Brother Kwame Dow

About Me

Brother Kwame J. Dow was initiated through Beta Chapter at Lincoln University, Pennsylvania on May 20, 1993 and has been dedicated to our Fraternity for more than 30 Years. Most recently, he served as the 34th Twelfth District Representative, transforming the activities and legacy of the District, which includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

 

As District Representative, Brother Dow set the direction of the 12th District, managed the District Council and served as a member of the Supreme Council (Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity Inc. Board of Directors). Under his leadership as District Representative, the District doubled its net worth, achieved the highest financial numbers in history (over 1,600), was recognized for outstanding leadership through the COVID-19 pandemic, and developed partnerships that netted more than $250,000. He reactivated nine undergraduate chapters (Lambda, Epsilon Mu, Alpha Theta, Alpha Epsilon, Alpha Mu, Pi Mu, Xi Mu, Zeta Mu & Sigma Eta), and chartered three graduate chapters (Xi Nu Nu, Rho Nu Nu & Tau Nu Nu). Prior to serving as DR, Brother Dow was 1st Vice District Representative, Membership Chairman and Rules Committee Chairman.  

 

Brother Dow’s took the first steps of consistent service as Beta Chapter’s Vice Basileus from 1993-1994 and Basileus from 1994-1995. During his tenure, the chapter was awarded 2nd District Undergraduate Chapter of the Year. He relocated to Southern California, and began to form friendships in the 12th District, serving as Vice Basileus and Basileus of Tau Tau Chapter in Compton, CA from 2011-2014. However, he’s maintained strong ties to Beta Chapter over the past three decades, acting as a Master of Ceremony during Beta Chapter's Centennial celebration in 2014 and keynote speaker at Beta’s 105th Chapter Anniversary in 2019. 

 

Brother Dow has received numerous awards and recognition for service, including the Grand Basileus Award at the 84th Grand Conclave, Omega Man of the Year, as well as the Founders Award & Superior Service Award (Chapter and District). He has facilitated town halls with United States Senator Alex Padilla of California, Arizona governor Katie Hobbs, and CA Secretary of State Shirley Weber, led roundtables with the 41st Grand Basileus David Marion, and served as Master of Ceremonies and keynote speaker for numerous events on the International, District and Chapter levels.  Most recently as Master of Ceremonies for the Public Program and Founders Banquet at the 84th Grand Conclave.

 

Professionally, Brother Dow is a highly sought-after Human Resources Executive with a reputation for transforming culture and maximizing workforce efficiency. He currently works for a nonprofit in the Greater Los Angeles area as Chief People & Strategy Officer. During his career, Brother Dow has negotiated multi-million-dollar vendor contracts, managed P&Ls of more than $10MM, implemented national Human Resources and Staffing Solutions with annual revenues of $20MM, and managed workforces of 600+ employees. He has worked with industry giants including City of Hope, NBCUniversal, DreamWorks, City of Los Angeles, METRO, LAUSD and the State of California.

 

Brother Dow recently celebrated his 26th wedding anniversary with his college sweetheart Nicole Dow. Their 20-year-old daughter Jazz is matriculating at DePaul University.
